Another early morning accident, this time in the vicinity of the Conversation Tree on the Rupert Craig Highway has left a 30 year old man nursing serious injuries.
Nohar Seenjan, 30, of De Abreu Street Kitty received serious head injuries after one of his tyres suffered a blow-out.
Seenjan’s wife Claire Melville was also a passenger in the vehicle but received minor injuries.
Kaieteur News understands that the couple had just left the National Stadium hours before the accident.
A close relative said that the couple had dropped off a relative at Plaisance and was heading back to Georgetown when the mishap occurred.
According to the relative, Seenjan lost control of the vehicle and ended up hitting a light pole.
This newspaper was told that rescuers had their work cut out to get the man out of the vehicle.
He was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation and to the Intensive Care Unit.
The relative explained that Seenjan had regained consciousness but had to be sedated because he was pulling the needles out of his arms.
Over the weekend three persons have perished on the roadways.
On Saturday morning, 19-year-old Christopher Crawford was killed after the vehicle in which he was travelling overturned on Mandela Avenue.
Three other persons suffered injuries as a result of that accident.
Two others perished in another accident on the Linden Soesdyke Highway.

This Is Sukhu Street in Canje, Berbice. It is one of the main thoroughfares in the No2 area. It was fixed not too long ago and is now in a deplorable state. A number of business places are located in the street and vehicles have a horrible time navigating it.
