– Hydromet Service
The Hydromet Service of the Ministry of Agriculture is advising residents in vulnerable low lying riverain and coastal communities, especially those living in close proximity of sea and river defence to be alert as spring tides are in effect.
As such the Hydromet Service has advised the responsible agency, the River and Sea Defence Department of the Ministry of Public Works of the current spring tide in effect and to take necessary action. Further, the National Drainage and Irrigation Authority is being asked to support local government authorities and ensure all internal drainage systems are working.
According to the Hydromet Service spring tides of 3.35 m and 3.28 m can be expected today at 04:26 hrs and 17:14 hrs respectively. This spring tide alert will be effective until Sunday.
