Four schools participated in this year’s 12th Annual Hilbert “Beef” Humphrey Memorial Inter-Primary Schools Mini-Tennis Tournament which was played recently, at the Republic Bank Court in New Amsterdam.
The schools that participated were All Saints, St. Theresa, School of Nations and St. Aloysius, while those absent were New Amsterdam and Overwinning.
Coming out on top was All Saints which won 13 games and lost 8, St. Aloysius ended runner-up with 10 games and 8 defeats, third place went to St. Theresa with 6 games and 12 losses while School of the Nation brought up the rear after registering 5 wins against 13 defeats.
The players who represented All Saints were Daniel Narsaiah, Shaquan George, Kean Hinds and Alliyah Elexey.
In the individual competition the results are as follows:
Girls 8 & under
Ebonie McNeil (School of the Nation) def. Jada DeJonge (St. Aloysius) 10-7
Boys 8 & under
Daniel Narsaiah (All Saints Primary) def. Vindley Wilson (St. Theresa) 10-6
Girls 10 & under
Simanda Decunha (St Theresa) def Alliyah Elexey (All Saints Primary) 10-7
Boys 10 & under
Joshua Butts (St Aloysius) def. Shaquan George (All Saints) 10-7
Most Valuable Players were Simanda Decunha (St Theresa) and Joshua Butts (St. Aloysius).
