The national junior windball cricketers have broken camp, but will continue preparations for the upcoming Annual 20/20 Series against Trinidad and Tobago which is scheduled to begin on July 27 at the National Park.
According to Organiser Allister Munroe, the Trinidadians are anticipated to arrive in the country on July 26 for a 5-match series against the locals with games listed to be played at different venues.
The local squad is made of players under the age of 13 years and were drawn from those that participated in the recently concluded national Primary Schools Competition.
Munroe speaking with Kaieteur Sport last Monday disclosed that currently the squad is comprised of players from Berbice, East Bank and East Coast Demerara, Wakenaam and Georgetown and they’ve been hard at practice sine the start of encampment last Friday at the National Gymnasium.
The sessions are being conducted by Ryan Harewood, Edward Cobenna and Basil Persaud.
Guyana is the defending champions, having won the series back-to-back.
