Rams Cricket Club, led by an enterprising ton from former senior Essequibo Inter-county skipper and national youth player Rovendra Mandolall, defeated Cougar Cricket Club when play in the Ontario East Division Softball League concluded in Toronto Ontario Canada over the past week.
The right-handed batsman emulated his colleague, former national youth player Vishaul Arjune, who had earlier scored a century in the competition.
He hit an entertaining 108 to see his team reach a solid 171-2 at the expiration of the 20 overs. In reply, Cougar Cricket Club could only muster 93-6 when their overs ran out. Mandolall, the former senior Essequibo Inter County skipper, smashed 11 sixes and seven fours, while Jito Narine supported with a breezy 41.
Ganesh Budhram was the only batsman to show fight for Cougar with 26 as Prakash Singh grabbed two wickets for 20 runs from his allotted 4 overs. Mandolall, who has been a prolific scorer in the competition over the years, registered his 27th century.
