Play in the GBTI Open Tennis Tournament continued on Monday, at the Banks Hardcourts in Bel Air. In results of matches played:
Men’s Singles-
Kijana Lewis def multi-talented sportsman Johnathan Fagundes 6-4 4-6 6-4
Jeremy Miller (2) def Benjettan Osborne easily in straight sets 6-0 6-1
Men’s Doubles Open-
Albert Madramootoo/ Steve David Longe outlasted Gavin Barckoy/Henk Wilkinson 6-4 6-4.
Mixed Doubles-
Jason Andrews /Grace McCalman defeated youngsters Benedict Sukra/ Nicola Ramdyhan 6-1 6-7 (5) 6-2.
Sukra and Ramdyhan showed promise in the second set as they held their nerves and played the better tennis, before being outlasted in the third stanza.
Ladies Singles-
Thi Fernandes won by walkover from Shawna Gentle (2) and will to proceed to the semi-finals where she faces Krystal Sukra.

Men’s Singles-
Gavin Lewis created a major upset when he defeated the experienced Carlos Adams 6-2 6-4.
Godfrey Lowden and Sandeep Chand (game unfinished) 7-5 2-6 5-4 in what was the match of the day.
Chand, yet another former top junior player making a return to competitive tennis raced out to a 5-2 lead in the first set with several forehand winners.
Berbician Lowden, however, utilised his vast experience to claw his way back and took the first set.
The second set followed a similar pattern, but this time Chand serving at 5-2 held at love to take the set.
The third set was a tight affair, before Lowden broke to take a 5-3 lead with some excellent passing shots, however he was then broken at love, before rain intervened in the three hour long match.
Play was expected to resume yesterday.
Gavin Barckoy def. Bishan Dalip 6-2 6-4.
Men’s Doubles Open-
Jeremy Miller/Jason Andrews def veterans Maxie Fox/Keith Eversely 6-1 6-3.
Khalif Gobin /Benedict Sukra def. Gairy Myers/Kijana Lewis (retired) after Myers/Lewis won the first set in a tie breaker 7-6.
Mixed Doubles-
Shelly Daly-Ramdyhan/Godfrey Lowden (Number 2 seeds) def Thi Fernandes/ David Fernandes 6-2 6-1.
