The 73-year-old poultry farmer who was viciously attacked on Monday evening last, succumbed in the wee hours yesterday at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
Rudolph Moonsammy of St. Lawrence, East Bank Essequibo, was reportedly the victim of an attack by one of his employees.
The suspect is in custody, and according to police sources, a charge of murder is now likely to be instituted.
Police investigations have so far revealed that on Monday last (June 7), Moonsammy intervened in a misunderstanding between two men who work on his farm, when one of them is alleged to have dealt him several lashes about his head and body with a piece of wood.
