Named after the most famous footballer to ever play the game, Guyana’s Pele Football Club will light the GFC ground afire tomorrow when their past and present players take to the field in a match to determine bragging rights.
According to a member of the Past team, they have a star-studded line-up that includes a number of former national players most of who were outstanding in their prime.
Among those expected to appear for them are the former prolific striker Vibert ‘Durdy’ Butts, Gordon Brathwaite, who many regard as being in the top three full backs this country has ever produced, Terrence ‘Ole Head’ Lewis, Rawle Jones, Mark Joseph and former youth Captain Dirk Exeter.
The current crop of players will be spearheaded by the big and reliable central defender Solomon Austin, the nippy Travis Grant, Mervin Liverpool, Dirk Archer and Devon Edinboro. Kick-off time is 18:00 hrs.
Please share this to every Guyanese including your house cats.
