Seven years and counting
Telecommunication Giants, Guyana Telephone & Telegraph Company (GT&T) through its Cellink Brand will for the seventh successive year co-sponsor the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club (RHTY&SC) Annual Youth Review Magazine.
GT&T is pumping a total of $450,000 into the publication this year and according to Club Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster who is also the Editor in Chief of the Magazine, GT&T’s sponsorship was vital to the Magazine as it covers almost half of the total cost associated with its preparation and printing. Foster disclosed that the magazine would be the 11th consecutive edition.
The 48 page magazine is currently being printed at the F & H Printery in Georgetown and would be launched in late July. Foster noted that this year’s Magazine was special to the club which is currently celebrating its 20th Anniversary after being formed in 1990 by the St. Francis Community Developers.
This edition would include articles on the club’s achievements over the past twenty years; profiles of some of its outstanding cricketers, pictorial reviews, congratulatory messages and activities of the Club during the period January 2009 to June 2010.
Several guest articles would also be included, including one by Ms. Leslyn Thompson, Communication Officer of UNICEF on the Topic “The Rights of the Child”.
Organising Secretary of the RHTY&SC Ravindranauth Kissoonlall on behalf of the club expressed gratitude to the Marketing Department of Cellink for their continued cooperation with the club.
Marketing Director Wystan Robertson, Ms. Rhonda Johnson and Ms. Abena Fung were all highly praised by the Club for their outstanding contributions over the years.
The relationship between GT&T and the RHTY&SC dates back some 15 years and Kissoonlall stated that both entities have grown from strength to strength to emerge as the best in their respective fields of endeavor, today.
Beverage Giants Banks DIH Ltd, Bank of Nova Scotia and International Pharmaceutical Agency Health Care are also sponsors of the 2010 Magazine.
