Mr. Clinton Williams, Chief Executive Officer of the Guyana National Industrial Corporation (GNIC) is the new President of Guyana Manufacturing and Services Association (GMSA).
Mr. Williams was elected President of the Association at its Annual General Meeting, which concluded on Friday last at the Secretariat on Waterloo Street.
He succeeds Mr. Ramesh Dookhoo who recently assumed the office of the Chairman of the Private Sector Commission.
Williams is supported by Mr. Lloyd Singh of International Pharmaceutical Agency & Clear Waters Inc. who was elected First Vice President, Mr. Lindel Harlequin of Development Finance Guyana Ltd. South America (DFLSA) as Second Vice President, while Mr. Autamaram Lakeram of National Milling Company of Guyana (NAMILCO) is Third Vice President.
Expressing his appreciation for the confidence the Board has expressed in him, the new President has set as his objectives for the 2010/2011 year, the expansion and enforcement in the manufacturing and services sector through advocacy, innovation and technological change.
Mr. Williams also serves as Chairman of the Association’s Construction and Engineering sub-sectors.
The Chairpersons of the various sub-sectors are Mr. Andrew Mendes (Forestry and Wood Products) Mr. Anthony Ross, (Agro-Processing), Mr. Gregory De Gannes (Fast Food Restaurants), Mr. Lindel Harlequin Services and Mr. Gowkarran Persaud (Minerals and Related Materials). Mr. Mark Bender has assumed the position of Sub-sector Co-odinator.
The other members, elected to the Board at the AGM, are Mr. Deny Bourque, Ms. Yonette Jeffers, Mr. Clement Duncan, Mr. Ramesh Dookhoo, Mr. Terry Holder, Mr. Justin Habibullah, Ms. Tina Horslen, Mr. Peter Pompey, Mr. Raymond Ramsaroop, Mr. Gopienauth Sowdagar, Ms. Marjorie Chester and Mr. Gary Thompson.
