After a prolonged absence from competition, race walkers would resume activities when the Cavaliers Sports and Tour Club (CSTC) stage an Independence Day Walk in observance of the 44th Independence anniversary on Wednesday May 26 next.
The keen rivalry between top race walker, Rudolph Mitchell, Maurice and Jonathon Fagundes and O’Neil Durant among others will resume with intensity.
The race starts at the Barama Plywood Company, Land of Canaan EBD and proceed to the Soesdyke Methodist church for the finish. Lucrative prizes would be awarded to the top three finishers in the junior, male, female, seniors, veteran and differently abled categories. Participants are urged to be at the starting line by 06:00hrs to facilitate a prompt start.
