In the aftermath of a fire that ravaged the original building of the decades old St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, officials will be meeting with the members of the media to discuss a number of situations facing the hospital at this time.
Soon, the hospital will also be offering a number of essential services to the public that had been discontinued after the fire.
Members of the Hospital Administration will speak today at a press conference where they will address what has been happening since the fire. The representatives of the Board of Directors and the Chief Executive Officer of the Hospital will discuss the current difficulties being faced by the institution as well as the proposed rebuilding of the hospital.
Last week Monday morning a fire of unknown origin broke out in the original hospital building, eventually claiming that building but sparing the rest of the hospital.
There was no loss of life as the overwhelming emergency and community response managed to ensure the evacuation of all of the patients. Although the patients were relocated to the Davis Memorial Hospital, the services of St Joseph Mercy’s private doctors were being offered at the Red Cross Headquarters.
