Two more Zone winners were decided recently when Seerja Construction Company sponsored Region 3 Primary Schools Windball Cricket Championships continued at the Unitvlugt Community Centre ground.
The two winners who were declared champions are (Boys) Meten-Meer-Zorg and (Girls) Leonora who successfully defended their title.
In the Boys final
Meten-Meer-Zorg defeated Windsor Forest by 4 runs.
Taking first strike, Meten-Meer-Zorg rattled up 54-4 with Kelvin Shewprasaud 23 and Looknauth Chinkoo 19. Rajendranauth Bisnauth 2-9.
Windsor Forest in only their 2nd tournament in reply were restricted to 50-3 with Chetnanmni Pooran 12.
Earlier, Meten-Meer-Zorg beat Cornelia Ida by 16 runs.
Meten Meer Zorg 84-5, Chinkoo 34, Shewprashad 23, and Mark Jeffers 18.
Cornelia Ida 68-3, Budram Persaud 21, Dhaniram Samaroo 16, Vickram Talmankund 14.
Leonora then scraped past Uitvlugt by 6 runs.
Leonora 75-5, Hemendra Gaul 33, Haseeb Hamid 17.
Uitvlugt replied with 69-5.
In the Girls final
Defending champions Leonora defeated Stewartville by 7 wickets.
Stewartville 33-2, Selena Young 10.
Leonora 38-3, Sherne Kertzious 10.
Semi-finals-
Leonora eased past Uitvlugt by 8 wickets.
Uitvlugt 22-3, Shemick Black 10. Dhanwantie Basdeo 2-2.
Leonora 24-2, Nikita Jones 10. Kezie Mc Lennan 2-8.
Stewartville beat Zeelugt by 9 wickets.
Zeelugt 32-4, Dellicia Heywood 10. Shaneeza Khan 2-8. Stewartville 33-1.
Quarter-final-
Uitvlugt beat CI by 7 runs.
Uitvlugt 36-0, Jamacy Petty 16, Shemika Black 12.
Cornelia Ida 29-1.
