Both McGillvary boys and girls units were declared champions of the Seerja Construction Company Primary Schools Windball Cricket Championships for Region 3 after they registered victories against their respective opponents in the final which was played recently at the Wales Community Centre ground.
In Boys action:
McGillvary defeated Goed Fortuin in the final by 10 wickets.
Goed Fortuin batted first and closed on 21-2 off the allotted 5 overs. Delon Souvenir picked up 2 wickets.
Mc Gillivary in reply reached 22-0 in 2.3 overs with D Souvenir hitting 13.
Earlier in the semi-final- McGillvary beat Wales by 7 wickets.
Wales made 29-4 with Mark John 10.
Souvenir captured 3 wkts.
Mc Gillivary 30-3. Zarat Shariff took all three of the wickets to fall, ending with a hat-trick.
In the Girls final-
McGillvary registered a five-wicket win over Wales.
Wales 26-0. Noarmantie Rajoop 15.
Mc Gillivary in reply, reached 27-5. Tonia Braithwaite bagged 2 wkts.
In semi-final play-
Wales eased past Two Brothers by 9 wickets.
Two Brothers scored 13-3.
Wales 14-1.
McGillvary then beat Patentia by 10 wickets.
Patentia made 30-6. Satyawattie Sugrim had 3 wkts, while Rohini Doodnauth supported with 2 wkts.
Mc Gillivary 33-0, Doodnauth 18.
