The East Demerara Football Association (EDFA) Mackeson Premier Football League continued over the weekend with three matches at the BV Triumph ground with Golden Stars and Buxton Stars recording victories.
On Saturday Golden Stars needled Victoria Kings 1-0, thanks to a penalty in the 35th minute from Keon McCually.
On Sunday at the same venue, the first of a doubleheader saw BV/TU Football Club and Ann’s Grove sharing points after a 2-2 draw with BV/TUFC claiming an own goal in the 7th minute, Rayon Hopkinson netting in the 10th giving BV/TUFC the lead in the first half. Antonio Jackson’s 68th minute goal and Travis Daniels 76th minute strike leveled the score in the latter half.
In the supporting game Buxton Stars overcame Mahaica Determinators FC 3-0. Randy Andrew 15th minute penalty sent the Buxtonians in the lead. Quason McLean 55th minute header from a cross off the boot of Backho Lewis put Buxton Stars comfortably in the lead, while eight minutes later, the sealer came from another penalty by Randy Andrews (63) sealing the game 3-0.
