In keeping with its policy of building and fostering partnerships and goodwill with the wider society, the Guyana Defence Force hosted 21 pupils from the Holy Name Nursery School of Riversview East Bank Essequibo.
The children were accompanied by their parents and teachers when they visited Base Camp Ayanganna last Friday.
The students were given a tour of several units, including the Medical Corps and were entertained by a section of the Band Corps.
According to one of the teachers, Ms. Melena Pollard, the pupils are taught that the GDF is a national institution committed to community development.
The visit, she said, was to complement their learning and to provide them with direct experience.
She thanked the Guyana Defence Force for facilitating the very informative and enjoyable visit.
