The Hugh Ross Classic Committee yesterday held a successful Fitness Walk around the outer circuit of the National Park sponsored by GT&T Cellink and Banks DIH Limited Aqua Mist Water.
Leading the participants on the route was Guyana’s most acclaimed and Professional Bodybuilder Hugh Arlington Ross who said he was elated to see the large turnout despite heavy rain before the start of the walk.
The walk commenced at the National Park and moved East up Thomas Lands, North into J.B Singh Highway, West into Carifesta Avenue, South into Camp Street, East into Lamaha Street , North into Albert Street to end at the starting point.
Ross in brief remarks before and after the walk commended all for being a part of the event whole encouraging them to make it a habit and to also adopt healthy eating habits. He also encouraged the walkers which included leading female distance queens Alika Morgan and Javina Straker and their coach Leslie Black, to come out and enjoy exciting competition on Sunday when the 2nd Hugh Ross Classic Bodybuilding & Fitness Competitions are held.
Staff members of GT&T Cellink, Total Fitness Gym of Grove East Bank Demerara were part of the walk which saw the participants going through stretching exercises at the conclusion.
Gratitude was extended to the sponsors GT&T, Banks DIH, Traffic Ranks of the Guyana Police Force and the National Park for their contributions towards the successful event.
