When competition in the Bakewell sponsored Muslim Youth Organisation (MYO) 15 overs Inter-Jamaat softball cricket round-robin cricket competition continued on Sunday last at MYO Ground, Woolford Avenue, Thomas Lands, Muslim Youth Organisation, Cornelia Ida and Queenstown recorded victories.
Cornelia Ida batting first against MYO in their first of back-to-back games were bowled out for 113. Salim Mohammed and Vikash Totaram scored 19 each. Richard Latiff snared 5-5 and Raymond Harper 2-20 for MYO who in reply made light work of the total reaching 116-1 powered by a swashbuckling undefeated 56 from Wasim Haslim. He received fine support from Shaheed Gittens who also ended unbeaten with 38.
In their second game against Land of Canaan, Cornelia Ida opted to field first inserting Land of Canaan who posted a challenging 164-8 from their 15 overs. Martin Dookie led with 53 and Feroze Mohammed 30.
Cornelia Ida in reply hit off the runs in 12 overs for the loss of just one wicket thanks mainly to a magnificent 106 not out by Lincoln Leander. Ameer Mahmood contributed 18*.
Queenstown won via the walk over route from Lusignan.
