Executives of the Ocean View International Hotel in collaboration with the Guyana Softball League have teamed up to stage the 2nd Annual Floodlights Cricket and a countrywide one day domino competition slated for Sunday April 25 at the Better Hope Centre Ground, Better Hope ECD.
Domino teams would compete for a first prize of two hundred thousand dollars, in a four games, two in, one out, format. The organizers are currently entertaining applications and all interested teams are urged to complete the registration stage of the tournament at the front desk of the Ocean View Hotel at the earliest opportunity. Double six time is 13:00hrs.
Later on, the cricketers would take to the field, under floodlights for the commencement of the cricket game. The team finishing first receives two hundred thousand dollars while the runners up receive fifty thousand dollars. The third place finisher takes home thirty thousand dollars. The team finishing fourth will win a ram goat.
There would be lots of food and drinks on sale at the venue coupled with a BBQ and a merry go round for the children. Fans purchasing BBQ tickets will retain their stubs to facilitate a raffle to be drawn at the end of the night’s activities. Two lucky patrons would win a DVD player and a BMX bicycle.
The entrance fee for the domino competition is ten thousand dollars while the cricket teams are required to contribute fifteen thousand dollars for their participation.
