Police are hunting for a man who threw away a bag containing a sawn off shotgun and fled when he was confronted by ranks of a police mobile patrol around 09:30 hours yesterday.
According to the police the ranks were on patrol along Kiskadee Drive, East La Penitence, Georgetown, when they observed a man who was walking along the road with a haversack on his back acting in a suspicious manner.
As they approached the man he threw away the haversack and escaped. The haversack was searched and an unlicensed 12 gauge single barrel shotgun was found. The barrel had been cut short.
