What is being described as good investigative work by members of the Guyana police force has led to the interception of 4.75 kilograms of cocaine, which were found concealed in three sealed tins at Good Hope, Essequibo Coast.
The discovery was made at about 16:10 hours on Saturday.
Four men, two of whom are Nigerians, and two women are in police custody as the investigations continue.
And at about 02:00 hours yesterday, ranks of a mobile patrol at Winifred Gaskin Drive, Wismar, stopped and searched a man in whose possession 1 kilogram 800 grams of ganja was found.
He too has been arrested and is in police custody.
