Relatives of Travis Dover, 19, of L First Street, Bartica, are alarmed at the actions of the police in Bartica.
The source of their discontent is the release of the driver who they said caused Dover’s injury. Dover was struck down while riding his bicycle, and was later admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).
They are concerned since Travis Dover is in a critical condition at the GPHC.
The driver involved in the accident has not been charged, and has been released on station bail.
According to a relative, the accident occurred at the junction of Third Avenue and Third Street, Bartica.
The relative added that the driver took Dover to the Bartica Hospital. The injured man was then transferred to the GPHC the same day since his face was tremendously swollen and lacerated.
According to his mother, Debra, Travis is the second of seven children. He assisted her greatly since she is a single parent.
She has since learnt that her son received severe head injuries and a fractured skull.
