Anna Catherina cane-cutter, James Gobin, and his wife, Shureen Ragbeer, say they are willing and ready to donate either of their kidneys to save the life of their only son but are waiting on the process to be worked out for such an operation.
In the meantime, they are seeking the assistance of the public to raise funds to keep him on dialysis while the process for the kidney transplant is being worked out.
Satish Gobin, 19, was recently diagnosed with chronic renal failure and requires long term dialysis until a kidney transplant can be done.
The parents are at their wits end to come up with funds to keep the dialysis going and at the same time, raise money to conduct a kidney transplant. In medicine, dialysis is primarily used to provide an artificial replacement for lost kidney function in people with renal failure.
The teenager recently received employment with the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission and worked in the interior. When he came home, his parents noticed his face gradually started swelling and when they took him to the hospital they received the shocking diagnosis.
“We tried our best to bring him up, and now look what happen,” Gobin’s mother lamented.
“You bring up your children and you don’t know what can happen to them.”
Anyone wishing to make a donation can do so at Republic Bank (Account No. 766-326-0). The parents can be contacted on 276-0953, 276-1207, or 669-8433.
Please share this to every Guyanese including your house cats.
