A 27-year-old minibus conductor who exposed his private parts to a 13-year-old girl was yesterday fined $15,000 when he appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson. Seon Oliver, of Norton Street, Lodge, pleaded guilty to a charge which stated that he exposed his privates to the teenager on February 24.
Police Prosecutor Stephen Telford told the court that on the day in question around 23:30hrs, the defendant who is a family friend, was at the child’s home. Telford explained that the virtual complainant, who was asleep in her bedroom, was awakened by someone removing her pants. The child got up and saw Oliver who was nude. The court was further told that Oliver asked the child to hold his penis, the child however refused.
The man started to masturbate in front of the child and continued until he ejaculated. After he was finished he gave the girl $1000 and told her not to tell anyone, the child however who was disturbed told her aunt.
A report was made and the defendant was arrested and charged. When asked if he had anything to say, the man told the court that he did not touch the girl. He said that he was watching an x-rated movie and the child woke up when he was masturbating.
He was fined by the magistrate.
