Three students from a city school who are accused of having carnal knowledge of a 12-year-old girl were yesterday remanded. They all made a court appearance before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson at the Georgetown Magistrates Court.
It was alleged that the boys allegedly had carnal knowledge of the girl on February 18. The boys were represented by attorney at law Paul Fung-a-Fat.
The lawyer in a bail application told the court that his clients were not flight risks. He said that they would not interfere with the victim.
Fung-a-Fat said that there was no reason to remand the boys to prison for an eminently bailable offence.
Police Prosecutor Stephen Telford objected to bail, on the prevalence of the offence. The boys were all remanded. They are expected to make another court appearance on March 10.
