Resident of Aurora Estate was elated upon seeing and rescuing a green back turtle.
The turtle which weighed more than 350 pounds was discovered on Monday in a canal than ran alongside Mr. Baba Ramotar’s rice farm.
When this newspaper visited Mr. Ramotar at his Aurora resident yesterday, prominent businessman and entrepreneur, Rupan Ramotar, and his workers were rescuing the turtle which they said made its way ashore from the Aurora seashore.
Mr. Rupan Ramotar noted that the turtle that came ashore to nest had difficulties in finding its way back to the river.
He said that he was very grateful to be able to render some assistance to the turtle which now has his life back.
People in the area who converged on the scene to witness the huge turtle expressed their amazement.
