A ten-year-old student is currently battling for his life at the Georgetown Public Hospital after he was struck down by a car Thursday afternoon on the Huis T’Dieren Public Road.
Navin Singh, of Huis T’Dieren, and another Primary School pupil were hit off of his pedal cycle after he came into contact with the car, PGG 6580, driven by Lallnarine Seeram, a rice farmer of Anna Regina.
The car was proceeding south along the public road leading to Huis T’Dieren when Singh who was riding his pedal cycle turned into the path of the vehicle.
Singh was said to have collided with the left side of the car and fell on the road. He was subsequently picked up by the driver who transported him to the Suddie Public Hospital in an unconscious state.
This newspaper was told that Singh who sustained two broken legs had to be air dashed to Georgetown Thursday evening.
He remains a patient of the Georgetown Public Hospital.
