A man was yesterday morning soundly beaten after he attempted to sell articles which had been stolen from a vendor’s home the night before.
The vendor, Keisha Mc Farlane, who sells food at the Staborek Market told this newspaper that her home was broken into and a number of articles were stolen.
The woman explained that shortly after 03:00hrs yesterday morning she discovered that someone had broken into her home. She said that the thief stole one pair of drop earrings, five diamond rings, $35,000 in cash and a cell phone.
Mc Farlane said that when she arrived at the market yesterday morning she quickly informed persons to be on the lookout for persons who might want to sell the stolen items.
Lo and behold the man went to one of the woman’s friends at the market trying to sell the cell phone. The friend quickly called Mc Farlane and as soon as the man saw her he tried to run, but was cornered by other vendors.
He was surrounded and the vendors began to beat him, he was rescued by patrol officers.
He was taken to the Brickdam Police Station where investigations are continuing.
