Dear Editor,
Your columnist wrote a very lengthy article on the state of Guyana’s Cricket. He has identified some of the problems but in his effort to support the Malteenoes agenda he has selectively cast blame.
What of the Chairman of selectors? He has no culpability on this poor performance over the years. Mr. Claude Raphael should offer his resignation or the Board should follow the example of South Africa and change the selectors.
Also Mr. Roger Harper is being touted as the new ‘Saviour’. What has he done to satisfy the public as to his administrative experience? He spent a short while as President of DCC when he left mid stream to fulfill a lucrative coaching contract in Kenya.
Is Mr. Devers sure if the ‘Price is Right’ Mr. Harper wouldn’t pack his bags and leave? Also Mr. Harper has not driven a nail at the GCA. Let’s wait for a couple of years and see what he can do. He has inherited one of the best run associations in the country (thanks to Mr. Panday and Mr. Mentore). Let’s see how he builds on this before we rush to see him as the ‘Saviour’.
