The executive and members of Sunburst Camptown Football Club, an affiliate of the Georgetown Football Association, is extending its deepest sympathy to the family and relatives of the late Euston Smartt who passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2010 after a brief bout of illness.
Smartty, as he was familiarly called had once served as the President of Camptown FC, and was also instrumental in its formation, during his residency in Campbellville, in addition to also serving on the executive of the then Georgetown Football League, during the 80s’ and early 90s’.
Additionally, Euston as a former employee of the Guyana National Cooperative Bank (GNCB) was instrumental in the Bank’s success in the sporting arena, during the heydays of Guystac Games, and was also an ardent billiards and cricket player.
His illustrious career in the field of sports, which impacted the lives of many, would surely be missed.
Euston’s untimely death has all left us at the club in a deep state of shock and to his immediate family, relatives and friends kindly we extend our sincerest condolences, moreover, his son Jermaine Smartt, a former national player and member of Camptown. May His Soul Rest In Peace.
