The man of mixed ethnicity who was killed last Sunday at Eping Avenue, Bel Air Park was identified by police as Kwesi D’Andrade of 17 ‘C’ Field Sophia.
The man was shot when he attempted to escape from the security guards who had apprehended him.
According to the police, two security guards attached to Roraima Airways at Eping Avenue, saw two men removing the batteries from a motor Canter vehicle that was parked on the roadway outside of Roraima Airways.
They challenged the men and managed to arrest one of them while the other escaped on a bicycle.
An MMC Security Service pick-up with three more ranks subsequently arrived at the scene and the unidentified suspect was handed over to them.
