There has been the river disaster of which I spoke. There will be another, this time because the pilots would overload the vessels and the rough seas would simply be too much to handle.
Passing vessels would rush to rescue the hapless passengers but there is always the likelihood of someone failing to make it.
It goes without saying that some of the rescuers would help themselves to some of what the victims were transporting to make life that bit more comfortable.
On the roads there will continue to be the accidents. Careless walkers would keep getting struck by vehicles. In one case the accident will not be a mere case of a person being hit. The vehicle would slam into this person standing on the parapet and kill him.
The fact that the person on the parapet might have a bit too much to drink would not mean that he was at fault.

The police are going to investigate a case of bigamy in their ranks. A senior officer would have two wives, both of whom he legally married while he is a member of the force.
The Police Commissioner would seek an explanation but little else because he feels that the bigamist is a crucial member of the force.
The wives, however, will make a stink that would attract the attention of a certain Ministry.
