The Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha will be holding new classes at the Sanskritik Kendra in Prashad Nagar and in its Praants countrywide.
Classes are open to all. Take the opportunity to learn music, singing, dance, Hindi or Sanskrit.
The Sabha is encouraging persons interested to bring along friends and family to make learning these art forms and languages fun and exciting.
Dance classes will be held on Sundays from 13:30 hrs at the Dharmic Kendra, Prashad Nagar. Styles taught will include Kathak, Folk and Bollywood. Limited places are available; no experience required. Interested males and females can register. The class is free.
Dance classes are also scheduled for the Tain Kendra, Central Corentyne from 10:00 hrs on Sundays. On Saturdays, dance classes will be held at Shieldstown Mandir, West Berbice.
Classes are also scheduled to commence at the Parika Mandir, East Bank Essequibo.
Music and vocal classes are billed for Sundays at 14:30 hrs at the Dharmic Kendra , Prashad Nagar. Classes will also be held at Better Hope Mandir, East Coast Demerara.
Tabla classes will commence next Sunday at 14:00 hrs at the Dharmic Kendra, Prashad Nagar. You are encouraged to bring your tablas if you have.
Tabla and Dholak classes are held at the Better Hope Mandir every afternoon from 17:00 hrs.
Hindi classes are held every Sunday at 15:00 hrs at the Sanskritik Kendra in Prashad Nagar. Classes are held free of charge and no previous knowledge required.
New Sanskrit class commences this Friday at 16:30 hrs at the Dharmic Kendra Prashad Nagar. A working knowledge of Hindi will be an asset.
Pandit’s classes are held every Wednesday from 09:00 hrs at the Dharmic Kendra in Prashad Nagar. Pandits and persons interested in becoming Pandits are asked to apply.
Persons interested are asked to call the Kendra for admission criteria. Lecturers include Pandit Balbadar and Pandit Reepu Daman Persaud.
The Mahila Mandalee, the Women’s arm of the Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha will be holding basic and advanced Indian Cookery classes. Interested persons can call 227-6181 to register. Class is open to males and females and a certificate is given on completion.
The Better Hope Mandir will also be holding classes in Indian cookery.
