The Rose Hall Town Youth and Sport Club (RHTY&SC) continues to hold its own among Corporate Guyana as they seek to take care of the needs of its various teams.
Yesterday, the latest sponsor, Gizmos and Gadgets announced its partnership with the leading Youth and Sports Club when they announced that they will now be sponsoring their Division One team, now the Rose Hall Town Gizmos and Gadgets.
In pronouncing their commitment, Marketing Manager of Gizmos and Gadgets Leisa Waddell said that the company has always been proud to be affiliated with established recreational games that not only enhance physical wellbeing and aptitude, but provide opportunities to Guyanese youth in their chosen field.
“We have been impressed by the teams’ dedication and consistency and it is for these reasons we at Gizmos and Gadgets have chosen to sponsor the Rose Hall Town First Division team in the 2010 season. We hope our relationship will continue to foster the development of these talented Guyanese.”
RHT Gizmos & Gadget started playing first division cricket back in 1992 and ever since, has racked up a total of 561 matches winning 473, losing 69 and drawing 19. They have won close to 30 competitions in the Ancient County, 2 National titles and were runner-up last year while producing to date, 5 senior national players, 16 junior nationals and dozens who represented Berbice.
They were also named Guyana Cricket Board Club of the year in 2004, 2005 and 2009.
In his presentation at yesterday’s press briefing, Club Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster welcomed Gizmos and Gadgets on board pointing out that the club did not have a sponsor last year following sponsorship by Windies Sports Bar (2007-2008) and Courts (Guy) Ltd. 1995-2006.
“We are delighted to welcome one of Guyana’s most progressive and fast expanding companies into our list of official sponsors. Another bonus for the company will be that the club’s Under-23 team would also wear the Gizmos and Gadgets name.”
The first division team will be led in 2010 by National players Esuan Crandon and Assad Fudadin as Captain and Vice respectively. Currently, three of the club’s players are on duty with the Guyana team in the Regional 4-day competition.
Foster noted that special emphasis would be placed on introducing a number of young players the likes of Shawn Perreira, Loyden Lewis, Clinton Pestano, Dominic Rickey and Lenny Sinclair.
Sponsorship for this year, which will be given in three parts according to Foster, amounts to $250,000 apart from branded uniforms. Assistance would also be given in the form of trophies and gifts for the RHTY&SC’s Annual Awards Ceremony set for March month end in Berbice.
“The management and staff of RHTY&SC would like to express profound gratitude to Mr. Ravi Mangar and his wife for this sponsorship. Special thanks also to Marketing Manager Leisa Waddell and to our dear friend Mr. Wystan Robertson, GT&T’s Director of Marketing for his assistance.”
Foster further promised that the management of the RHTY&SC will continue to work hard and strive for excellence as they have done in the past. “This is the start of an exciting era in the history of the RHTY&SC and we are thrilled about it.”
