The Second Edition of the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) Annual Review Magazine was released recently, with Board President Keith Foster stating that communicating with the Berbice cricketing public is very important to his Board as it wants every Berbician to be a part of the process of lifting the game in the Ancient County.
President Foster noted that the BCB has expanded its Public Relations and Communication Department because it was quite aware that in the past the general public was kept in the dark about the work and plans of the entity. He said that he was proud to be the head of the only Cricket Board that produces an Annual Magazine and called on the others to follow their example.
Editor of the Magazine and PRO of the BCB Hilbert Foster in presenting an overview of the Magazine noted that it was just a joint production of the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club and the Board’s Special Events Committee.
The 24 page publication consisted of over 25 articles on activities of the Board in 2009, three pages of pictorial review, one page of photographs of activities in the past, profiles of four BCB Executives, articles on Narsingh Deonarine and Royston Crandon, female cricket in Berbice, Committee Reports, a Tribute to the late Ivan Madray and a thank you section for sponsors.
Distribution of the Magazine has started and would continue next week to Cricket Officials in Guyana, Berbice Cricket Board sponsors, Cricket clubs in Berbice, the Media, Government Officials, libraries, NGO’s, Social Organisations and overseas based Guyanese among others.
Regional Chairman Zulfikar Mustapha described the Magazine as one of the highest standard and congratulated the Berbice Cricket Board for its policy of keeping the general public informed on its activities.
Mustapha along with Region Six Community Relations Officer Faizal Jafferally received the first two copies of the Magazine from Board President Keith Foster.
The Special Events Committee has expressed gratitude to the, F & H Printery, GT&T’s Cellink, Republic Bank, A. Ally & Sons, Berbice Inn, Demerara Bank, Guyana Lottery Company, P & P Insurance Brokers, New Building Society, Guyana Cricket Board, Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club and Ayube Hamid Furniture Establishment for their support which made the Magazine a reality.
