Dear Editor,
It is indeed with genuine regret that I read of the resignation of the General Secretary of the Guyana Public Service Union (GPSU).
I have known Ms Persaud for a very long time due to my involvement with the Union over the years and have come to admire and respect this woman for her sincere contribution to the trade union movement.
Ms Persaud’s conduct over the years has put some hope in the minds of public servants. In this day and age when the trade union movement is fragmented and the leaders serve themselves, she would be surely missed.
I must congratulate her for standing up for workers’ rights.
