Shemroy Waddle and Granville Harris amassed 17 games apiece to lead Shem’s Domino team to victory when the South Turkeyen Sports Committee (STSC) staged its 6 teams domino competition at the Shem’s Hideout, 244 South Vryheid’s Lust ECD, Saturday morning last.
Smith’s Better Hope Sports Club Domino Team chalked up 76 games to finish in the second place while Royals Domino team finished in the cellar with 60 games.
Almost every member of Shem’s team made a valuable contribution as Shemroy Waddle and Granville Harris scored 17 games each with support from Lennox Chisholm (16) and the lone female in the competition, Ramona Agard (14). Harris also shared the first love in the competition.
The players competed for trophies and medals donated by leader of the People’s National Congress, Robert Corbin, Otto Barnwell and Akim Barnwell.
Meanwhile, the STSC will host yet another domino competition comprising of six teams. Action gets underway on Friday January 15 at the Guyana Legio’ns, Carifesta Avenue, Georgetown.
Teams vying for honours are Edward Beharry, Guyoil, South Better Hope Sports Club, Rest Team, National Communications Network and a mixed team.
The winners would be awarded with a trophy while there would be a special prize at stake for the Most Valuable Player. Once again the organizer of the tournament is Johnny Barnwell.
