Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson yesterday remanded two of the three men charged with the murder of an Albouystown resident. The other was absent since he has not yet been arrested by the police due to his unknown whereabouts.
The brothers Randolph Allicock, 35, of 25 James Street, Albouystown, and Leonard Allicock, 47, of 33 James Street, Albouystown, appeared to answer the charge of murder.
Steve Allicock, 28, another accused in the matter, and the son of Leonard Allicock, was absent.
It is alleged that on December 31, last, at Albouystown, they murdered Wendell Tappin. Both Leonard and Randolph Allicock were represented by attorney-at-law Euclin Gomes and were not required to plead to the indictable charge.
Gomes applied for an early date for the start of the preliminary inquiry against his clients and said that he hopes the absence of Steve Allicock does not affect the inquiry.
Police Prosecutor Stephen Telford requested that an arrest warrant be issued for the absent accused. He assured that the absence of the missing Steve Allicock would not affect the progress of the PI since the file is completed.
The Acting Chief Magistrate then remanded the two and issued the arrest warrant for Steve Allicock. They are expected to return to court on January 27.
