The Pro-Chancellor of the University of Guyana, Dr. Prem Misir, will be in India to present a paper on the theme “Leveraging Knowledge Networks: Global Ink” at the 8th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) in New Delhi from January 7-9, 2010.
According to records, this will be his fourth presentation since 2005 in that country.
The Government of India through its Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs and the Confederation of Indian Industry are the architects of the historic annual PBD.
Panelists in this session will include Chancellor and President of the University of Houston Dr. Renu Khator and Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University of Kwazulu-Natal Professor Dasarath Chetty. Professor Jagdish Bhagwati of Columbia University, New York, will be the first speaker at the launching of the Oration Series.
There will also be Seminars on Nanotechnology and Property-related issues and the Indian Diaspora will feature at this PBD 2010. President of India, Ms. Pratibha Devisingh Patil, will deliver the valedictory address.
