Guyana’s representative to the Ladbrooke.com PDC Championship Norman Madhoo is expected to spring into action today, at the Alexandra Palace in London, England.
Madhoo, who won the right to represent the Caribbean after winning the qualifying tournament in Barbados, opens up against Canadian qualifier Ken McNeil and the survivor’s next assignment is against 12th ranked Englishman Alan Talbern.
Meanwhile, in first day results, 14-times and defending champion Phil Taylor cruised to a 3-0 win over Colin Monk.
Wayne Mardle suffered a shock defeat in the opening match of the event, losing 3-0 to Germany’s Jyhan Artut.
England’s Kevin McDine came from two sets down to defeat two-time former champion Dennis Priestley 3-2.
In the final game of the evening, Scotland’s Robert Thornton made it through with a 3-1 victory over Christian Perez, who had earlier beaten Denmark’s Per Laursen in the preliminary round.
