Camille’s Institute for Business and Science Studies located at Track X, 1-4 Soesdyke, East Bank Demerara, held its annual Santa Parade yesterday.
The route was from the Texaco gas station to the Madewini outpost.
The Private school which has been established approximately nine years to date celebrated its fifth parade with the sharing of gifts – in excess of 500 items – by students and staff of the institution to young boys and girls in the neighbourhood.
The children presented with gifts were between eight and ten years of age, while kids and adults of all ages joined the parade.
According to the Principal, Camille Deokie Gorkah, the school has been a part of the Soesdyke community and majority of the institution’s population are villagers.
That, she stressed, was the reason the institute decided to have a Santa parade, “to give back a little to the community since the community have given so much.”
