Motorists, speedboat operators and other fuel customers will be able to enjoy the benefits of Shell V-Power gasoline with the commissioning of the Shell Vreed-en-Hoop Service Station on the West Coast of Demerara.
Shell V-Power gasoline, according to Sol Guyana General Manager, Ken Figaro, who commissioned the facility yesterday, is the only performance fuel in the fuel market which is created with technology developed for Ferrari Formula One racing and then adopted for road cars.
Figaro explained that Shell V-Power is available exclusively from Shell and is the fuel entity’s highest performance fuel.
“It is designed to actively clean and protect engines as they work, helping to keep new engines in top condition and restore older engines to give optimum performance. It is also designed to improve acceleration and responsiveness, to help engines to obtain the maximum power from fuel and to give better overall performance generally,” Figaro added.
Married couple, Wazir and Anita Mohamed, are the new dealers of the Service Station which was previously regarded “a dump.”
According to Anita Mohamed having made a decision to enter the fuel industry she recognised the facility as one that could lend to national development.
In fact, she noted that her expectations of the fuel station have been astounding as sales have already started to double.
The service station was owned by Esso before it was acquired by the Sol Group under which Shell now operates.
“This latest transaction is another step towards achieving Sol’s strategic objective of establishing a business presence in all of the countries in the Caribbean,” Figaro divulged.
He said that with the addition of the Shell Service Station, Sol has now increased its service station network by 142.
It was following a simple ceremony yesterday at the newly commissioned service station that little Aliah Sarah Mohamed was tasked with cutting the ceremonial ribbon to declare the facility officially commissioned.
