– to spend Christmas in jail
Three men, including a Guyana Defence Force Lance Corporal were yesterday charged and placed before the court following investigations into the incident at Lima, Essequibo Coast, on Monday December 7, last, where they allegedly attacked vendor Clairmonte Scott at his home.
Lance Corporal Oslin Phillips, 25, of Aurora, Essequibo Coast, was charged with attempting to escape from lawful custody, resisting arrest, assault peace officer, and entering a dwelling house in the night with intent to commit a felony.
Junior Paul, 27, of Johanna Cecilia, Essequibo Coast, was charged with entering a dwelling house in the night with intent to commit a felony. Carlos Petrie, 18, of Maria’s Lodge, Essequibo Coast, was charged with unlawful possession of firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and entering a dwelling house in the night with intent to commit a felony.
They appeared before Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Wakenaam Magistrate’s Court and were remanded to prison until January 13, 2010.
