The one-year-old toddler who was involved in the Mahaica accident that claimed the lives of six persons continues to be in a critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit of the Georgetown Public Hospital.
A relative of Jonathan Bourne said, ‘He just staring at us like he don’t know anybody, he doesn’t even recognise his mother.”
Last week the child underwent surgery to remove particles that were still in eyes. The child’s mother, Clavia Williams, was discharged from the hospital last week, having sustained injuries to her foot. However she is expected to return to the hospital for a scheduled surgery.
Doreen Dutchin continues to be a patient in the hospital. Her condition is readily improving. Wayne Holder and Marvin Ramphal who are all survivors of the crash were discharged last week.
The other people involved in the accident were David Budhran, Dhandar Drepaul, 23; Vanetta Usher, 29; and Anille Arthur, 17. They were all treated and sent away.
The persons who perished in the accident were Joshua Johnson , the minibus driver, Gary McAlmont, called ‘Percy’, Troy Douglas, Cynique Fraser, Patrina Munroe; Mary Blair, 52. (Latoya Giles)
