Event brings together best wards in Guyana
The Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association (GABA) will be launching the Nation-Wide Super-Eight Inter-Ward Championships tomorrow at the Facts and Roses Office on Garnett Street, Kitty where they will host the media.
The tournament is geared at attracting the best eight wards in Guyana in two groups using the round robin format with the best two teams advancing to the semi-final. The final will be a best-of-three playoff among the top two wards.
The top three teams in the well-attended Georgetown Inter-Ward contest this year, North Ruimveldt, Wortmanville/Werk-en-Rust and Albouystown/Charlestown will take on the top two in Linden, Central Mackenzie and Christianburg.
Additionally, it was disclosed that the other teams that will make up the eight include the East Coast Combined, East Bank Combined and New Amsterdam. The GABA is aiming for a December 12 commencement of the competition.
