Guyana under-15 Captain Shaquille Williams continued his recent good all-round form by helping home
team Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) to a 4-wicket win against Vikings in their Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) 2nd division 20/20 cricket match yesterday.
The 16-year-old Williams took 4-13 from 4 overs of off-spin and got support from medium pacer Neil Barry Junior (2-18) as Vickings were restricted to 151-8 off their allotted 20 overs.
Trevor Henry top scored with an attractive 68 which was decorated with 5 fours and 2 sixes and got support from Vickanand Dallo (35) and Delwin Neblett (18) offered some support for the visitors.
The experienced Troy Lewis (36) and Delvon McEwan (25) then gave MSC a half-century opening stand before they both gifted their wickets with injudicious shots.
Williams, whose batting has been showing promising improvement, reached 21 before he too gave his wicket away by lofting a catch to long-off while former Guyana First Class player Neil Barry senior (15) was also guilty of throwing his hand away when he clipped a full toss to short mid-wicket. Randy Lindore seemed unfortunate to be given leg before for 15.
Henry, a former Guyana under-19 medium pacer, in his new role as spinner, took 2-24 as MSC reached victory in the penultimate over of their innings.
