There has not been any recent word from the relatives or the authorities on the status of the search for Aliya Bulkan.
But sources close to the issue are assuring that a search is ongoing.
While Roraima Airways owner, Capt. Gerry Gouveia said nothing new has emerged following Saturday’s disappearance, a source close to the issue said several army ranks based at Mahdia were taken in by boat to the foot of Kaieteur mountain also called “Oh me God.”
In addition, reports are that ranks of the GDF Special Forces were flown into the area yesterday about 6:00hrs.
On Sunday, according to reports, an Air Services Limited craft flew into Mahdia with Bulkan’s father, Rustum, to make arrangements for a ground party to travel to the area. The source opined that if the woman did jump into the raging Kaieteur Falls it is almost impossible to get to the bottom of the falls and that it would take weeks to do so over “really rough topography and several mega boulders.”
He said that if the woman’s body is below the falls it might be in the gorge but he did say that “the terrain is terrible, not a bed of roses” and that “they will have to set up camp for a few weeks.”
