Berbice, who beat the Rest Team in their first match, will miss four players from their first round team when they come up against the Essequibo from tomorrow at the Anna Regina ground in Region 2 in the Guyana Cricket Board 4-day cricket competition.
Narsingh Deonarine, who is one of 4 Guyanese on the tour to Australia, is scheduled to depart Guyana tomorrow morning while the Crandon brothers and Delbert Hicks are all injured. National left-hander Assad Fudadin will captain the side with the experienced Homchand Pooran as his deputy while 6 players in the squad have never played for Berbcie at the senior 4-day level.
Artley Bailey, Rajiv Ivan, Eugene La Fleur, Anthony Bramble, Devon Clements and Krishendat Ramoo are the players without 4-day senior team experience while out-of-form Test opener Sewnarine Chattergoon, Fudadin and Pooran will lead the Berbcie batting.
First-Class spin twins Veerasammy Permaul and Davendra Bishoo will take care of the bulk of the spin duties while Brandon Bess and 17-year-old Keon Joseph, the 2 quickest bowlers in Guyana, should share the new ball for Berbice who won this year’s One-Day competition.
