Four persons were yesterday afternoon being treated for various injuries after minibus BLL 9419 and motor car HB6867 collided at the corners of Vlissengen Road and Sandy Babb Street. The accident occurred around 15:30hrs.
The injured persons were identified as Kevin Jordan, 19, of 21 Penny Street, Tucville. He sustained injuries to his left hand. Patricia Trotman, who was semiconscious at the scene, sustained injuries to the head and hands. She was a passenger of the car.
Jermaine Clarke received injuries to the face and both arms, and Marissa Adridge, 32, of 161 Campbellville Housing Scheme, sustained injuries to her hands and feet.
Reports reaching this newspaper stated that the car had the green light when it was alleged that the minibus driver drove into its path, causing the vehicles to collide.
The occupants were all rescued and taken to the public hospital.
Eyewitnesses told this newspaper that the driver of the minibus was proceeding in a fast manner.
The driver of the minibus, according to sources is a member of the Guyana Police Force. He fled the scene of the accident and up to press time he had not turned himself in.
