The Guyana Palms was recently endowed with a quantity of medical supplies valued at $500,000, complements of Publisher of the National Media and Publishing Company, Mr Glenn Lall.
The donation came as a fulfilment of Lall’s promise to honour a request made by officials of the facility located at Brickdam, Georgetown, which accommodates more than 200 elderly residents.
The request was made earlier this year when Lall visited the facility to honour the residents with a special meal.
According to Assistant Administration (ag), Ms Pauline Davis, the endowment, including blood pressure and blood glucose monitors, tests strips and guiding catheters, will undoubtedly help to boost the institution’s capabilities to offer medical care.
Ms Marcia Girard, who made the presentation on behalf of Lall expressed her hope that the supplies will be utilised in the way that they are intended.
